Celestial Seasonings Expands Anytime Wellness Line with Three New Functional Blends

American brand Celestial Seasonings has expanded its Anytime Wellness collection with three new functional blends: Prebiotic Blend, Stomach Soother and Throat Soother. Each blend is designed for a specific benefit — supporting digestion, soothing the stomach, and calming the throat, respectively — using combinations of traditional herbs and plants.

The expansion comes at a time when functional tea is the fastest-growing segment of the global tea industry, with consumers increasingly seeking natural alternatives for everyday wellness in place of classic supplements.

Celestial Seasonings, one of the oldest American herbal tea brands, is leaning on its decades-long reputation to strengthen its position in this fast-expanding segment, in a market where more and more traditional brands are launching lines dedicated to functionality.

Vietnam Approves an AI-Focused Coffee Research Institute

Authorities in Vietnam’s Gia Lai province, one of the country’s most important robusta coffee-growing regions, have approved the establishment of a dedicated coffee research institute with a $12.4 million budget. The project will integrate artificial intelligence tools into agronomic research, from optimizing plantation yields to early forecasting of diseases and climate conditions affecting harvests.

Vietnam is the world’s second-largest coffee producer, with robusta remaining the backbone of its exports. The investment comes as Asian producers increasingly seek technological solutions to cope with climate change and growing volatility in international coffee prices.

The initiative joins a broader wave of digitalization in global coffee farming, where artificial intelligence is increasingly used for satellite plantation monitoring and predictive harvest models — tools meant to reduce risk for smallholder farmers.

Wipeout Beverages Launches a Functional Ready-to-Drink Tea Brand

American company Wipeout Beverages launched its own functional ready-to-drink tea brand this summer, debuting in Louisiana with three core flavors: Sweet Tea, Half-Pipe Lemonade + Tea, and Unsweetened Black Tea. The products combine real brewed tea with 160 mg of “clean” caffeine sourced from green tea and the recommended daily value of B vitamins.

The brand was founded by a team with decades of experience in the beverage industry, and its positioning leans on combining the classic taste of American iced tea with the functional benefits consumers increasingly seek — sustained energy without the “crash” typical of classic energy drinks.

The launch is part of a broader wave of RTD brands trying to cut sugar and add functional benefits to bottled teas, in a U.S. ready-to-drink tea market looking for new growth drivers after a slight decline in traditional sales.

International Women’s Coffee Alliance Reaches 40 Global Chapters

The International Women’s Coffee Alliance (IWCA) has announced three new chapters — in the BeNeLux region, France and Ghana — expanding its global network to 40 chapters. The announcement was made official at the World of Coffee event in Brussels, one of Europe’s most important coffee industry trade shows.

IWCA supports women involved at every stage of the coffee value chain — from growers and processors to roasters and café owners — through mentorship programs, access to financing and professional training. The expansion into new European and African markets strengthens the organization’s presence on continents where women’s participation in the industry often remains underrepresented at leadership level.

The steady growth of the IWCA network reflects a broader trend in specialty coffee: more industry players are recognizing women’s central role in production and calling for greater transparency around gender equity in the supply chain.

Dancing Goat Distillery Launches the 10-Year Stillmans Sonder Whiskeys

American distillery Dancing Goat has launched the Stillmans Sonder collection, comprising two 10-year-old whiskeys. The first is a bourbon aged in Andean and American oak barrels with several double-oaked components, bottled at 47% ABV. The second is an American single malt distilled in Indiana and aged in Wisconsin, then finished in an unusual combination of casks — virgin oak, ex-bourbon, Wisconsin brandy, Cognac and Calvados — at 48.2% ABV.

Both expressions sell for $70 per 75cl bottle, available through the brand’s own website and a selection of U.S. retailers.

The release reflects a growing trend in American whiskey: small, independent distilleries experimenting with complex cask combinations to differentiate their products from major established brands — a strategy that lets them compete on quality even as their volumes remain far smaller.

Montecristo Launches Edición Doble Diamante Red, the Second Release in the 1935 Anniversary Series

Open club 10

Montecristo, through manufacturer Altadis U.S.A., has announced the Edición Doble Diamante Red — the second release in the 1935 Anniversary series, inspired by the rarity of a red diamond. The cigar uses rare tobaccos from master blender AJ Fernandez’s personal reserve: a small-batch Nicaraguan wrapper, an extra-fermented binder, and Nicaraguan filler, all grown at the Finca la Lilia and San Lotano farms in the Estelí Valley.

Offered in a single Toro format (6½ x 54), the cigar is packaged in a cedar humidor with a glossy finish and metal accents, priced at $150 each. The edition was developed in collaboration with Rafael Nodal, continuing the premium blending tradition of the Montecristo anniversary series.

Limited editions like this, built on rare tobaccos and collector’s packaging, remain an important pillar for historic cigar brands seeking to stay relevant with collectors through annual releases of this kind.

Those looking to explore the Montecristo range can find Montecristo cigars at Mister Tabaco.

Kruti Coffee Sends First Zero-Duty Indian Coffee Shipment to the UK

Indian company Kruti Coffee, one of the first specialty coffee brands from the state of Odisha, has shipped from Kolkata the first Indian coffee consignment to the UK exempt from customs duty, under the new CETA trade agreement between India and the United Kingdom. The shipment coincides with the August 1 opening of the brand’s first international café, in London.

Co-founder Jeeta Mona presented officials at India House with a symbolic tin of Kruti coffee to mark the occasion. The coffee comes from the Koraput region of Odisha, where Kruti is the first entity developing specialty coffee roasts from locally grown beans.

The recently enacted CETA agreement removes customs duties on a range of products between the two countries, opening the door for more small Indian exporters to reach the UK market — a sign of the accelerating internationalization of India’s specialty coffee scene.
