Montecristo, through manufacturer Altadis U.S.A., has announced the Edición Doble Diamante Red — the second release in the 1935 Anniversary series, inspired by the rarity of a red diamond. The cigar uses rare tobaccos from master blender AJ Fernandez’s personal reserve: a small-batch Nicaraguan wrapper, an extra-fermented binder, and Nicaraguan filler, all grown at the Finca la Lilia and San Lotano farms in the Estelí Valley.
Offered in a single Toro format (6½ x 54), the cigar is packaged in a cedar humidor with a glossy finish and metal accents, priced at $150 each. The edition was developed in collaboration with Rafael Nodal, continuing the premium blending tradition of the Montecristo anniversary series.
