Glenfiddich Releases Second Limited Edition Made with the Aston Martin Aramco F1 Team

Glenfiddich 18 Y.O.

Scottish distillery Glenfiddich, owned by William Grant & Sons, has released the second limited edition from its partnership with the Aston Martin Aramco Formula 1 team. The Speyside single malt is aged 16 years and matured in an unusual combination of casks: first-fill bourbon barrels, Port pipes, Oloroso sherry casks, wine casks and Fino sherry butts.

Bottled at 43% ABV, the new release is available in the UK for around £75 per 75cl bottle through retailers including Selfridges and Master of Malt.

Partnerships between whisky distilleries and Formula 1 teams have become increasingly common in recent years, with brands leveraging the precision and refinement associated with motorsport to position their special editions as collectible items.

H. Upmann Expands the Nicaragua by AJ Fernandez Line with the New Sunrise Toro

Magnum 54 tubos

H. Upmann has released a new Toro vitola (6 x 54) in its Nicaragua by AJ Fernandez series, called Sunrise — the third collaboration between the Cuban-American house and master blender AJ Fernandez. The cigar features an Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper over Nicaraguan binder and filler, grown and fermented by Fernandez himself, resulting in a balanced, medium-bodied profile.

According to manufacturer Altadis U.S.A., Sunrise is “our take on a Connecticut done right” — crafted by master blenders Rafael Nodal and AJ Fernandez to round out the line with a milder option. The series comes in four sizes, from Robusto to a 6×60 Magnum, priced between $13 and $14.50 per cigar.

The release marks another step in H. Upmann’s expansion for the U.S. market, where the brand remains one of the most cherished historic Cuban names, now reissued through Nicaraguan production.

Ahmad Tea Wins Grocer Gold Award for Social Impact in 2026

Ahmad Tea, one of the British tea brands with a global presence, has won the 2026 Grocer Gold Award in the “Social Impact Initiative of the Year” category. The award recognizes the company’s “Hand-Picked Profit Shared” program, through which it redistributes a share of profit directly to the workers who pick its tea leaves — a rare practice in an industry where margins usually flow to middlemen and retailers rather than primary producers.

The Grocer Gold distinction, awarded by British trade publication The Grocer, is one of the most respected honors in UK food retail and places growing emphasis on sustainability and supply-chain ethics criteria.

Around the same time, the tea industry marked a similar moment: India’s Luxmi Tea received a national honor for the workplace safety standards implemented on its own plantations.

The trend points to a tea industry increasingly attentive to the conditions of upstream workers, not just to the quality of the final product.

Weber Workshops Becomes Official Espresso Basket Sponsor of the World Barista Championship

Weber Workshops, known among professional baristas for its precision equipment, has become the first-ever official espresso basket sponsor of the World Barista Championship for the 2026–2027 edition. The partnership includes the company’s own Unibasket, designed for maximally even extraction, which will be used in the competition’s official rounds.

The news lands in a busy season for the international specialty coffee community: at SIGEP Asia, Singapore crowned its new national champions — Gabriel Lim Yeok Sien won the Barista Championship title, while Elysia Tan took the Timemore Brewers Cup.

Collaborations like this between equipment makers and world championships confirm how technical the barista sport has become, where differences of a few tenths of a gram in extraction can decide a podium finish.

For those looking to experiment at home with precision recipes, Mister Tabaco offers a quality coffee selection in its dedicated category.

SIP Awards 2026: Over 1,300 Beverages from 40 Countries Honored in the 18th Edition

The international SIP Awards competition announced the winners of its 18th edition on July 17, 2026 — one of the few spirits competitions judged exclusively by consumers rather than industry professionals. This year’s edition drew more than 1,300 entries from over 40 countries, evaluated across spirits, ready-to-drink, mixer and non-alcoholic categories.

Medals were awarded across tiers — Platinum, Double Gold, Gold, Silver and Bronze — alongside special honors such as Best of Class, Consumers’ Choice and Innovation Award.

The consumer-voting format makes SIP Awards a relevant barometer of real market preferences, distinct from competitions judged solely by sommeliers or master distillers — another sign that the spirits industry remains highly dynamic, with more small, craft brands earning recognition alongside established names.

For those looking to explore quality spirits, Mister Tabaco offers a varied selection in its dedicated alcohol category.

Ardbeg Dolce, the New Special Edition, Scores 94 Points from Whisky Advocate

Whisky Ardbeg 10 Years 0,7l

Scottish distillery Ardbeg, known for its heavily peated Islay whiskies, has released Dolce, an edition combining bourbon-cask-matured whisky with one finished in marsala dolce casks. The result is an unusual profile for the Ardbeg range: the sweetness of Italian dessert wine intertwines with the distillery’s signature peat.

Whisky Advocate awarded the edition 94 points, one of the best scores of the summer for a Scotch single malt.

The release arrives during a busy season for whisky news: Blade and Bow rolled out a 12-year-old Solera Reserve finished in cognac, Bordeaux, Moscatel and Port casks, while India’s Indri unveiled a Founder’s Reserve aged 11 years in ex-Bordeaux red wine barrels.

Functional Tea and Matcha Lead Global Trends in 2026

The global tea industry is undergoing a visible shift in 2026, according to a recent market analysis. The organic segment keeps growing on the back of rising demand for pesticide-free products, and matcha remains a star category while diversifying further: new ceremonial-grade origins are appearing, alongside flavored versions (chai, vanilla) designed for lattes, and hojicha, a roasted Japanese green tea with lower caffeine content and a sweet, toasted flavor.

At the same time, interest is growing in caffeine-free alternatives — rooibos, fruit infusions, and decaffeinated teas — sought by consumers looking to manage sleep and stress. Functional teas, formulated for relaxation, digestion, or energy, are becoming a daily wellness ritual for more and more consumers, while younger drinkers in particular are chasing visual, shareable experiences rather than sticking to a single flavor long-term.
