Hoyo de Monterrey Epicure Especial is a medium-strength, medium-bodied cigar with a spicy aroma. This vitola can be enjoyed for between 45 and 90 minutes. The cigar begins by revealing rich earthy aromas, but with a smoky cedar and a pleasant creamy presence. A dark honey note is also felt. Hoyo de Monterrey Epicure Especial is very velvety, with a hint of cardamom and cumin. As the vitola progresses into the second third, it gains floral notes alongside leather, but honey and cream, present since the first third, can still be felt. In the final third, the Hoyo de Monterrey Epicure Especial cigar becomes much richer, with wonderful notes of chocolate and cinnamon, while still mainly revealing aromas of oak, cedar and flowers.
