Hoyo de Monterrey Le Hoyo de Rio Seco is a creamy, rich cigar in the Robusto Extra format. It’s a hefty but short cigar that can fully reveal its potential in under an hour. Before lighting it, holding the cigar in your hand, you’ll pick up aromas of grass and tobacco from the wrapper leaf. First third: Le Hoyo de Rio Seco opens beautifully, with a smooth, creamy sensation. The cigar’s main aromas are woody, with cedar and earth notes predominating, while pleasant aromas of roasted nuts and a hint of leather appear in the background. Second third: the flavour profile doesn’t differ much from the first third, but cedar and earth periodically come to the fore. The aromas are very well balanced, rich yet soft at the same time. Sweet spice aromas begin to join in, and the cigar simply becomes magnificent. Final third: the intensity of the aromas increases in the final third, and the roasted nut aromas return. The herbal notes are also more evident, especially coriander and parsley. Some fruity aromas stand out, as do cocoa aromas.
