Global Coffee Awards 2026: Sweet Bloom Coffee takes the top US & Canada title

The North American edition of the Global Coffee Awards took place on 10 and 11 August 2026 in Houston, Texas, and the overall winner’s title went to Sweet Bloom Coffee, a roaster based in Denver, Colorado.

The competition followed a double-blind protocol: the judges, all Q grader certified, assessed the coffees without knowing who had roasted them. Awards were split across five categories — filter, espresso, flat white with dairy, flat white with plant-based milk, and ready to drink. Winners included Cafe Kreyol in filter, Lucky’s Coffee in espresso, Soul Cafe Coffee Roasters in dairy flat white, Pulp Coffee in ready to drink, and Sweet Bloom in plant-based flat white.

Regional winners qualify for the GCA world championship, scheduled for March 2027 in Mexico as part of the Producer & Roaster Forum.

Global Coffee Awards Asia 2026: Taiwan’s All Day Roasting Company Takes the Podium

Taiwan’s All Day Roasting Company won the overall title at the Asia edition of the Global Coffee Awards 2026, announced on July 13, earning Gold medals in both the Filter and Plant-Based Milk Flat White categories. Other regional winners include oma Coffee Roaster from Hong Kong (Espresso Gold), Kopikana Coffee Roaster from Indonesia (Dairy Flat White Gold) and Addicto Coffee from Thailand (Specialty Drip Bag Gold).

The Asia results are the latest stage of the global competition, with regional winners set to compete in 2027 against roasters from North America, Europe and Latin America for the title of World’s Best Roaster. Organizers note that Asia’s specialty coffee market is currently the fastest-growing in the world.
