The North American edition of the Global Coffee Awards took place on 10 and 11 August 2026 in Houston, Texas, and the overall winner’s title went to Sweet Bloom Coffee, a roaster based in Denver, Colorado.
The competition followed a double-blind protocol: the judges, all Q grader certified, assessed the coffees without knowing who had roasted them. Awards were split across five categories — filter, espresso, flat white with dairy, flat white with plant-based milk, and ready to drink. Winners included Cafe Kreyol in filter, Lucky’s Coffee in espresso, Soul Cafe Coffee Roasters in dairy flat white, Pulp Coffee in ready to drink, and Sweet Bloom in plant-based flat white.
Regional winners qualify for the GCA world championship, scheduled for March 2027 in Mexico as part of the Producer & Roaster Forum.
