Villiger Cigars has expanded its 1888 line with a new blend, San Andrés, which reached North American retailers in mid-June. The cigar pairs a Mexican San Andrés wrapper with an Ecuadorian habano binder and Nicaraguan filler tobaccos, and is rolled at the Villiger Cigars de Nicaragua factory in Estelí.
The maker describes the blend as medium-full, with notes of espresso and black pepper leading to an elegantly nutty finish. The new line comes in three sizes — Robusto (5×50), Toro (6×50) and Churchill (7×47) — priced between $12 and $13, joining the existing Villiger 1888 Dominican Republic and Nicaragua editions already on the market.
