Villiger TAA Exclusive 2026: A Box-Pressed Toro Reserved for Tobacconists’ Association of America Members

Villiger North America has announced this year’s cigar made exclusively for members of the Tobacconists’ Association of America (TAA), the group that brings together some of the most important independent tobacconists in the US. The Swiss brand changes the blend every year for this series, and the 2026 version will be previewed at the annual TAA convention, hosted in late October at the Casa de Campo resort in La Romana, Dominican Republic.

The new cigar is a 6 x 52 box-pressed toro, rolled at the Villiger de Nicaragua factory in Estelí. The wrapper is Ecuadorian Habano rosado, the binder comes from Mexico’s San Andrés region, and the filler is entirely Nicaraguan. The company describes it as medium to full in body.

Production is limited to 500 boxes of 10, or 5,000 cigars, with a suggested retail price of $13 per cigar. Shipments to TAA member stores begin on November 2.

Villiger de Nicaragua Edición Limitada wraps up with a 6 x 60 Gordo

Villiger is closing its Villiger de Nicaragua Edición Limitada series with a 6-inch, 60-ring-gauge Gordo, the biggest of the four annual releases. The series was announced in 2022 and moved through a Torpedo, a Perfecto and a Gran Churchill, all sharing the same blend in different vitolas.

The recipe is unchanged: an Ecuadoran Sumatra wrapper, a Mexican San Andrés binder and a filler that mixes Nicaraguan tobacco with Pennsylvania broadleaf. The maker places the cigar in the medium-to-full range. The cigars are rolled at the Villiger de Nicaragua factory in Estelí.

Total production is 2,000 boxes of 10, of which 650 are earmarked for the United States, where the suggested price is $20 per cigar. Shipments in Europe are scheduled for October, while the US market will receive the cigar in December. The glossy boxes keep the volcano motif, now joined by the image of a fishing boat on a lake.

Villiger is not currently part of our catalogue, but you can explore the cigar selection available at Mister Tabaco.

Villiger Launches the 1888 San Andrés, a Cigar With a Mexican Wrapper

Villiger Cigars has expanded its 1888 line with a new blend, San Andrés, which reached North American retailers in mid-June. The cigar pairs a Mexican San Andrés wrapper with an Ecuadorian habano binder and Nicaraguan filler tobaccos, and is rolled at the Villiger Cigars de Nicaragua factory in Estelí.

The maker describes the blend as medium-full, with notes of espresso and black pepper leading to an elegantly nutty finish. The new line comes in three sizes — Robusto (5×50), Toro (6×50) and Churchill (7×47) — priced between $12 and $13, joining the existing Villiger 1888 Dominican Republic and Nicaragua editions already on the market.

For premium cigar lovers, Mister Tabaco carries a varied in-store selection.
