Cotswolds Distillery, one of England’s best-known whisky makers, continues its annual Harvest series with a fifth expression named Round Hill Harvest. The release is scheduled for 25 September 2026, exclusively through the distillery’s website and its three shops, with a run limited to 1,200 bottles of 700 ml priced at £110 (about $147).
The recipe is unusual: the core is whisky of roughly four and a half years matured in former maple-syrup casks, supplemented by quarter casks that previously held peated whisky, aged six to seven years, and a single oloroso sherry hogshead. It is bottled at 55% ABV. According to the distillery, the smoky notes balance the maple sweetness with herbal and savoury accents, while the sherry cask fills out the mid-palate.
Cotswolds whisky maker Alice Pearson described the aim of creating a whisky that feels “free and fun” rather than technical. As with every Harvest release, the label reproduces a local artwork: Jeffrey Pratt’s painting “Near Traitor’s Ford”, depicting Round Hill, the spot that inspired founder Dan Szor to start the distillery.
