Kavalan Podium Wins Top Honor at the World Whisky Masters 2026

The World Whisky Masters 2026, organized by trade publication The Spirits Business, has announced its winners, with the overall “World Whisky Taste Master” title going to Taiwanese single malt Kavalan Podium.

Among the other notable results, Georgian distiller Jimsher picked up two Master medals, including one for Jimsher Tsinandali Cask, praised for its rich red-fruit character of ripe apples and strawberries. Godawan Artisanal Single Malt, a brand owned by drinks giant Diageo in India, received a Master medal for its Godawan 01 Rich & Rounded expression, the only entry in the India – Single Malt category to reach that level, while Australian distillery LARK collected three Master medals. The results confirm a growing trend: quality whisky is no longer the exclusive domain of Scotland, Ireland or the US, and is gaining ground fast across Asia and the southern hemisphere.
