The nonprofit organisation Grounds for Health is marking 30 years of work in coffee-growing regions with a new edition of its annual auction, scheduled online on September 23 and 24, 2026, on the gfhauction.org platform. Bidding opens on Wednesday at noon (New York time) and closes on Thursday at 6 p.m.
The green coffee lots on offer come from Colombia, Costa Rica, Ethiopia, Honduras, Kenya, Rwanda, Guatemala, Sumatra and, for the first time, Vietnam: an anaerobic natural-process robusta, a lot of roughly 60 kg with a cupping score of 86 and a starting price of $5.75 per pound. A custom sample roaster from San Cristobal completes the line-up. Donating companies include Balzac Brothers, Coffee Shrub, Crop to Cup, Dean’s Beans, Genuine Origin, La Minita, InterAmerican Coffee, Sucafina, Sustainable Harvest and Walker Coffee Trading.
The money raised supports cervical cancer screening and preventive treatment programmes in Ethiopia and Kenya. Over three decades, more than 265,000 women have been screened and over 22,000 have received preventive treatment. The auction, held since 2009, has raised more than $1.05 million in total; last year’s edition generated $28,424.
