Villiger is closing its Villiger de Nicaragua Edición Limitada series with a 6-inch, 60-ring-gauge Gordo, the biggest of the four annual releases. The series was announced in 2022 and moved through a Torpedo, a Perfecto and a Gran Churchill, all sharing the same blend in different vitolas.
The recipe is unchanged: an Ecuadoran Sumatra wrapper, a Mexican San Andrés binder and a filler that mixes Nicaraguan tobacco with Pennsylvania broadleaf. The maker places the cigar in the medium-to-full range. The cigars are rolled at the Villiger de Nicaragua factory in Estelí.
Total production is 2,000 boxes of 10, of which 650 are earmarked for the United States, where the suggested price is $20 per cigar. Shipments in Europe are scheduled for October, while the US market will receive the cigar in December. The glossy boxes keep the volcano motif, now joined by the image of a fishing boat on a lake.
