Hoyo de Monterrey Epicure No. 2 has been a favourite of Cuban cigar lovers for many years. The aroma shows freshness, fruity-woody notes and sweet florals. The cigar is aromatically powerful, but the taste of cocoa, cinnamon and dried fruit makes the Epicure No. 2 a complex smoke. The first third begins with a strong dose of tobacco alongside deep notes of damp earth and plenty of spice; after a few puffs it smooths out and the flavours settle. The second third turns sweeter, adding leather, honey and cocoa with a long, creamy finish. The final third is superb, with caramelised-sugar sweetness, tobacco and leather over a velvety creaminess.
