US retailer Creekside Cigar Co., based in Cincinnati and known for its large social-media presence, is making the move from shop to own-line manufacturer. The company has introduced its new brand, Queen of the West, with a first product called Queen of the West Bel D’oro.
The cigar debuts in a single size, a 6 x 48 toro. The blend uses an Ecuadorian Connecticut-seed desflorado wrapper over a Connecticut broadleaf binder, with filler from the Dominican Republic, Nicaragua and the United States. Production takes place at the Tabacalera La Isla factory in the Dominican Republic.
The cigars reached roughly a dozen partner shops on 17 August, while Creekside began selling them in its own store on 21 August, at an event with Hostos Fernández Quesada, the owner of La Isla.
