The 2026 edition of Ireland’s Midleton Very Rare series has launched in the United States at a suggested price of $240 (£180). The whiskey is bottled at 40% ABV and is the sixth annual edition overseen by master distiller Kevin O’Gorman.
The blend brings together five whiskeys: three single pot still and two single grain. Compared with the 2025 edition, the share of grain whiskey is higher, bringing notes of rose petal and geranium, while lighter pot still whiskeys carry more weight and add lemon zest and orange peel. Maturation took place in Midleton’s warehouses, some of which date to the 1860s.
The packaging has also been updated, with a box featuring foil details and a new closure. The series debuted in 1984 and is produced by Irish Distillers, part of the Pernod Ricard group, in County Cork. The publication does not state how many bottles were made.
