Laphroaig 15 Years Old returns to the US as a permanent expression after more than a decade

Laphroaig, one of Islay’s best-known distilleries, is bringing its 15-year-old single malt back to the United States after more than ten years away from the American market. The announcement came on September 23, 2026, and the whisky joins the permanent range alongside the 10- and 18-year-old expressions.

Matured in American oak ex-bourbon casks, it is bottled at 46% ABV with a suggested price of $89. Official notes describe citrus (orange, grapefruit), dried hay and vanilla on the nose, with sea salt, smoke and black pepper on the palate and a peachy finish.

Sarah Dowling, senior whisky blender at Suntory Global Spirits, welcomed the return of the “legendary” 15-year-old as a permanent offering. For the launch, the brand has partnered with Women Who Whiskey, which will host private tastings in several US cities.
