Indri, the Indian distillery based in the state of Haryana, has unveiled its Diwali Collector’s Edition 2026, the fourth release in a series launched every year for Diwali, the Hindu festival of lights. The series debuted in 2023 and has so far gathered 29 international awards.
The new single malt was matured in Ruby port casks from Portugal’s Douro Valley. It is made from Indian six-row barley distilled in traditional copper pot stills, while the subtropical climate of northern India speeds up maturation. Master blender Surrinder Kumar created the expression in small batches, bottled at 58.5% ABV. The official tasting notes point to black cherry, ripe plum, fig, toffee and cinnamon.
The edition has just 180 numbered bottles at around $265, and in the UK it is sold through Master of Malt, The Whisky Shop and The Whisky Exchange. The packaging was designed by Indian designer Krsnaa Mehta. The whisky has already received six accolades, including gold at the World Whisky Masters.
