Scottish distillery The GlenDronach, founded in 1826 by James Allardice, is marking its bicentenary with a 14-year-old single malt called the Boynsmill House Edition — named after the house on the estate where production began.
The whisky keeps the distillery’s signature approach, maturation in oloroso and Pedro Ximenez sherry casks, but adds spirit aged in claret barrels, the red wine casks from Bordeaux, for a richer character. The profile described by the producer leans towards ripe malt, toffee, bramble and raisin, with stone fruit accents and a velvety finish.
The edition is bottled at 46.8% ABV in 700 ml bottles and reached the market on 1 September 2026, with a recommended price of around 90 pounds in the UK and 124.99 dollars in the United States.
