Meikle Tòir The Turbo 2026: GlenAllachie’s peatiest whisky yet

Meikle Tòir, the peated whisky brand of Speyside’s GlenAllachie distillery, has announced The Turbo 2026, the fourth annual edition of a series launched in 2023. It is a five-year-old single malt with a peat level of 71 PPM, the highest in the Meikle Tòir range.

The peat comes from St Fergus in Aberdeenshire, and fermentation lasts 160 hours, almost three times the industry average. This edition uses virgin American oak casks alongside Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez sherry casks. The whisky is bottled at 50% ABV, with natural colour and without chill filtration.

Because the edition is very limited, access is through an online ballot open from 2 to 4 November. Sales start on 5 November at the distillery and at specialist retailers in several countries, at a suggested price of £62.99. Master distiller Billy Walker calls it “incredibly limited”.

GlenAllachie Releases Batch 7 of Its 21-Year-Old Cask Strength Single Malt

Speyside distillery GlenAllachie, led by master distiller Billy Walker, has released the seventh batch in its 21-year-old cask strength single malt series. Bottled at 51.9% ABV, non-chill filtered and free of added coloring, the whisky was matured in a combination of Pedro Ximénez and oloroso sherry casks. The flavor profile combines espresso, dark chocolate, forest fruits and spiced plums, with baked ginger, mocha, honeycomb and spiced orange on the nose. The recommended price is around $400 for a 700ml bottle. The Cask Strength series is considered one of the distillery’s most celebrated releases, reflecting Walker’s approach to cask selection and blending.
