Costa Rica is getting its third Cuban Regional Edition: El Rey del Mundo Tico, a cigar created by Habanos S.A. to mark 15 years of the local distributor Cruz Canela & Trust GB, which also covers Nicaragua.
The cigar is a Geniales measuring 5 7/8 inches by 54 ring gauge and comes in unusual packaging: the slide-lid box sits inside a glossy white humidor developed by HumidifGroup, which can later serve as a desktop humidor. Production is limited to 6,000 boxes of 15 cigars, priced at around $980 per box, or roughly $65 per cigar.
The official launch in Costa Rica is scheduled for September 28, 2026, followed by a premiere party on November 13. As with every Regional Edition, distribution stays within the market it was created for, following the Costa Rican editions of 2017 and 2020.
