Booker’s Southern Thunder Batch: A Cask-Strength Bourbon Honouring Booker Noe’s Voice

Booker’s, the cask-strength bourbon created in 1988 by Booker Noe, the sixth-generation master distiller of the Beam family, has announced a new limited batch: Southern Thunder Batch. The name pays tribute to Booker Noe’s deep, booming voice. His son Fred Noe, who personally approves every batch, fondly recalls the rare moments when his father told him “DONE GOOD”.

The bourbon is bottled at 127.3 proof (63.65% ABV), uncut and unfiltered. The barrels are over seven years old, the youngest being 7 years, 8 months and 14 days. The blend draws on five production dates and five different warehouses at Jim Beam’s Clermont, Kentucky campus.

Tasting notes mention vanilla and oak on the nose and a long finish. The suggested retail price is $99.99 (£75).

Booker’s is not currently in our range, but you can discover Jim Beam bourbon at Mister Tabaco.
