AVO Opens a New Chapter: the Brand’s First Cigar Made in Honduras

Davidoff has announced what it calls “a new chapter” for the AVO brand: the new Expresivo Robusto is the first AVO cigar ever produced outside the Dominican Republic. Production takes place at Diadema Cigars de Honduras, the factory known as the home of the Camacho brand, making Expresivo also the first collaboration between AVO and that factory.

The blend pairs an Ecuadorian wrapper with a Honduran binder and filler sourced from both Honduras and the Jalapa region of Nicaragua. It’s the first entirely new regular-production line from AVO since Syncro Caribe in 2021, and boxes began arriving in stores on June 25, 2026.

The AVO brand was founded by jazz musician Avo Uvezian and is part of the Davidoff portfolio, one of the best-known names in premium cigars — a range also available at Mister Tabaco, in the cigars category.

AVO Expresivo Robusto: A New Chapter for the Brand, Written in Honduras for the First Time

Davidoff has unveiled AVO Expresivo, the brand’s first new regular-production line since the 2021 launch of Syncro Caribe. The biggest news is where it’s made: for the first time, an AVO cigar isn’t produced in the Dominican Republic but at the Diadema Cigars factory in Honduras, best known as the home of the Camacho brand. The blend pairs an Ecuadorian wrapper with a Honduran binder and filler from Honduras and Jalapa, Nicaragua, resulting in a profile Davidoff rates 4 out of 5 for intensity — stronger than AVO smokers typically expect. The line comes in three sizes: Robusto (5 x 52), Churchill (7 x 48) and Toro (6 x 54), with list prices between $16 and $17.80. The launch marks a notable shift in direction for one of the established premium brands in Davidoff’s portfolio.
