American spirits giant Sazerac has entered a binding agreement to acquire Au Vodka, one of the UK’s best-known vodka and ready-to-drink (RTD) brands. The deal, reportedly worth around £500 million, is expected to close in the coming weeks.
Founded in 2015 in Swansea, Wales, by Charlie Morgan and Jackson Quinn, Au Vodka built its reputation on distinctive gold bottles and a flavored vodka range, growing a strong presence across retail, hospitality and e-commerce with more than 80 employees.
The acquisition adds to a Sazerac portfolio of over 500 brands, including Buffalo Trace, Fireball and Southern Comfort, and marks the company’s biggest push yet into the UK market amid a two-year acquisition spree.
