Keurig Dr Pepper is selling its entire stake in yogurt maker Chobani back to the company itself for 800 million dollars. In a separate transaction, Chobani is acquiring a KDP plant and warehouse in Allentown, Pennsylvania for roughly 125 million dollars.
The stake arrived indirectly: KDP had invested in American roaster La Colombe, and when Chobani bought La Colombe in December 2023, that investment converted into a 5.9% holding in Chobani. The bet therefore lasted less than three years.
Chief executive Tim Cofer said the move is intended to raise capital and reduce debt. The context is a broad restructuring: after acquiring JDE Peet’s, KDP is preparing to split into two entities — one for beverages and one dedicated entirely to coffee. Distribution of La Colombe’s ready-to-drink products nonetheless stays with KDP.
In the meantime, you can explore the coffee selection available at Mister Tabaco.
