Hoyo de Monterrey debuts Le Hoyo inside a four-cigar sampler

From September, General Cigar is shipping a sampler called Hoyo New Legends, built around a cigar that has not been sold on its own until now: Le Hoyo. The pack holds four Toro-sized cigars in a pre-humidified pouch, at a suggested retail price of $27.59.

Three of them come from the recently revamped Hoyo de Monterrey core lines — Rojo, Oscuro and Shade — while the fourth is the new Le Hoyo. It carries a Honduran OSA wrapper over a US Broadleaf binder, with a filler combining Dominican Piloto, Nicaraguan Estelí and two Honduran tobaccos: La Entrada Corojo 2012 and Jamastran Broadleaf.

The maker says Le Hoyo will eventually arrive in three frontmarks — Rothschild 4 1/2 x 50, Toro 6 x 52 and Gigante 6 x 60 — but for now it can only be tried as a Toro, inside this sampler.

Worth noting: this is the brand’s Honduran line, distinct from the Cuban Hoyo de Monterrey cigars. Those you will find in the cigar category at Mister Tabaco.
