Indian producer Alcobrew Distilleries is expanding its Gamber Valley brand with two permanent expressions: Pravah:, an unpeated single malt, and Tapah:, its peated counterpart. Both are distilled, matured and bottled at the distillery in Solan, in the state of Himachal Pradesh, in the foothills of the Himalayas.
The whiskies are made from Indian malted barley, distilled in copper pot stills and matured in ex-bourbon barrels, following Indian Malt Whisky Association standards. They are bottled at 46% ABV. Pravah: is described with notes of vanilla, ripe banana and chocolate, while Tapah: brings gentle peat, acacia honey and liquorice.
The 750 ml bottles arrive from November in a first group of states, including Delhi, Maharashtra and Himachal Pradesh, with a national rollout later. Prices vary with local taxes: roughly 3,600-5,500 rupees for Pravah: and 4,300-7,500 rupees for Tapah:. The brand debuted in June 2026 with two small-batch releases.
