Benromach Adds a 25-Year-Old Whisky to Its Permanent Range

Scottish distillery Benromach, in Forres (Speyside), is expanding its permanent range with a 25-year-old single malt, which becomes the oldest expression in the line-up alongside the 12, 15 and 21-year-olds. The whisky was matured exclusively in bourbon and sherry casks and is bottled at 46%, non-chill filtered.

This is not the first time the distillery has offered a 25-year-old: a 43% version was part of the core range in the early 2000s before being discontinued. The new edition returns at a higher strength. The official tasting notes mention berries, toffee apple and gentle smoke on the nose, followed by raisin, orange and dried tropical fruit, with an oak finish.

The price is around £250 ($335), and the bottle is sold via the distillery’s website, specialist retailers and selected international markets. Founded in 1898, Benromach has been owned by family company Gordon & MacPhail since 1993.

Benromach is not currently part of our range; you can explore the whisky and spirits selection at Mister Tabaco.
