On 17 September The Macallan presented TIME : SPACE Sherry Cask 20 Year Old, the third chapter of the TIME : SPACE collection that began with the distillery’s 200th anniversary. The launch was exclusive to the Macallan boutique at Harrods in London, with online availability and a handful of selected UK retailers to follow in October.
It is the house’s first whisky influenced by casks seasoned with Valdespino sherry, the Jerez bodega taken over by Macallan. Maturation took place mostly in sherry-seasoned European oak, after which the whisky was married in a batch of 200 first-edition Valdespino casks filled in 2024.
Bottled at 44.8% with natural colour, the malt is described with notes of sherry-soaked raisins, figs, dates, dark chocolate and spice, finishing on espresso and gentle oak. The recommended price is £1,100, roughly $1,485.
Macallan is not currently in our catalogue, but the whisky and spirits selection at Mister Tabaco includes other Scottish single malts.
