The 30th edition of Best of Panama, the world’s leading competition for Panamanian specialty coffee, has announced its winners following the blind tasting rounds held in July 2026. In the washed Geisha category, first place went to Lamastus Family Estates with a score of 96.25 points. In natural Geisha, Finca Lérida, with a lot presented by María Antonela Amoruso, scored 95.63 points, while Altieri Specialty Coffee took the Varietals category with 93.63 points.
The judging panel of national and international experts noted aromas of jasmine, bergamot, citrus and tropical fruit, with a “tea-like” clarity. The winning lots will head to an international auction, and the industry is now preparing for World of Coffee Panama, scheduled for October 23 to 25, 2026.
