American cigar maker El Mago has introduced a new limited-edition project, sold exclusively as a paired set: The Offender & The Defender, inspired by the imagery of sword and shield. The Offender, packaged in gold, uses an Ecuadorian Sumatra-seed wrapper, while The Defender, in purple packaging, is wrapped in Cameroon leaf; both share a Nicaraguan criollo binder and Nicaraguan filler. Made at the MGE Cigars factory in Estelí, Nicaragua, the cigars come in a single 6 1/2 x 52 toro size, packed in 20-count boxes priced at $16 per cigar or $320 per box. Production is capped at 250 boxes of each blend, shipped only to the brand’s top 40 “S-Tier” retail partners.
