Garrison Brothers, the oldest legal whiskey distillery in Texas, released this year’s edition of its Laguna Madre Texas Straight Bourbon on August 8, 2026 — now in its seventh year. New for this release is a first for the range: a Cask Strength Single Barrel variant, bottled at 135.4 proof, launched alongside the standard release.
Laguna Madre is aged for eight full years: four years in hand-selected white American oak barrels, followed by another four years in rare Limousin oak casks, under the intense heat of the Texas Hill Country. This year’s edition yielded just 3,000 bottles total — the first 1,000 were available at the distillery’s release event, with the remaining 2,000 going to select retail accounts and the distillery’s own e-commerce site starting August 14, 2026.
