Santa Clara is a cigar brand born in the San Andres Valley and founded in 1968 by Jorge Ortiz. What makes this brand special is its connection to its historical roots in the tobacco industry. Jorge Ortiz’s mother’s family had a rich tobacco heritage, and Octaviano Carrion, one of the family’s ancestors, was involved in growing tobacco and making cigars for international markets such as the Netherlands, Switzerland and Germany. On the other hand, Jorge’s father’s family grew tobacco on a small scale and also made cigars. This heritage and experience of the Carrion and Ortiz families led to the creation of the Santa Clara brand, which continues the tradition and quality in the world of cigars.
