Quai D’Orsay No. 54 is a new release from Quai d’Orsay, in the Edmundo format. This is probably the mildest cigar in the range, with a wealth of woody aromas. Before lighting, the cigar gives off aromas of cedar, tobacco, bread and a light spicy note. First third: opens with light aromas — mainly cedar wood and vanilla — with bread notes and hints of nuts in the background. Second third: the profile is almost identical to the first third; the pepper fades slightly, replaced by a light leathery bitterness with hints of strong coffee. Towards the end of the third, floral notes appear, characteristic of the Quai D’Orsay brand. Final third: alongside the rich cedar and floral aromas, a light sweetness appears, reminiscent of orange-blossom honey. Towards the end, notes of coffee with milk also stand out.
