Before you is the Cellini ORIGINAL pipe, long produced and highly prized by collectors and tobacco enthusiasts. Its story begins in the 1930s, when two friends from Chicago, Elliot Silber and Tracy Minzer, opened a shop specializing in pipes and tobacco. They sold no cigarettes or cigars — only pipes carved and blended by their own hands. The shop’s catalog ran to about a hundred pages of merchandise. Elliot carved pipes from briar, meerschaum, cherry wood and ceramic. In the ’40s and ’50s two more craftsmen joined the workshop, and although the shop also sold pipes from other makers, its greatest pride remained its own pipes. After Elliott’s death in the late ’70s the shop closed, but Cellini ORIGINAL pipes live on in history.
