Description
Selection is the guiding principle at every stage of producing each tobacco leaf destined for a Habano. This is where that selection begins.
The places where tobacco can be grown for making a Habano are strictly limited to certain well-defined tobacco regions, zones and districts of Cuban territory. Within these regions there are only a small number of plots that have their own particular style of cultivation.
These are the vegas. These plots have qualities that make them superior to others, thanks to the exceptional quality of their soil and microclimate, as well as the exceptional skills developed in cultivating them.
These tobacco regions, zones and districts are so special that, in certain cases, they are protected by designations of origin. You will find them marked with an asterisk in the text.
