Raymond Pages Raffo, a cigar maker born in San Luis, in Cuba’s Pinar del Río province, who moved to Nicaragua at 17, is launching his own company: Pages Cigars. Until now his name was known mostly behind the scenes – his factory, Tabacalera Pages de Nicaragua, opened in 2019, makes cigars for other brands, and he previously worked alongside AJ Fernandez.
For now the first line shares the company’s name and is described as a medium-to-full cigar made entirely from Nicaraguan tobacco. It comes in five sizes – Robusto, Corona, Toro, Gordo and Churchill – in boxes of 20. US distribution will be handled by another family company, Tabacalera Cigars Family.
The cigars are expected on shelves in mid-November, in both the US and Europe. The line may be renamed later, once the company adds further series.
