The Macanudo brand’s history dates back to 1868, when several Cuban cigar makers settled on the island of Jamaica and organised cigar production specifically for the British market. A popular cigar format at the time was called Macanudo – meaning “excellent” in Spanish. A century later, in 1971, these cigars were introduced to the American cigar market as a separate brand.
